Monica Rodrigo

Monica began her professional life in 1996 gaining a Degree in Law from the University of Salamanca.  She then started her career in Malaga, working in the mortgage industry dedicated to providing legal advice on real estate investment, primarily for non- residents.

After the real estate crisis hit Monica decided to develop her expertise further and go back to university to do a PHD in Spanish tax law. She researched, wrote a thesis, and taught degree level students the complex matters of collateral rights law.

For several years she combined her knowledge of the mortgage market and tax law to go to Madrid and work for Banco Santander in their mortgage business division.  Here she specialised in all areas of Spanish mortgage administration and regulation for their mortgage customers, in Spain and internationally.

Since starting a family she returned to her roots, to be close to her extended family and to enjoy the quality of life in the Malaga area again. In 2021, Fluent Finance Abroad welcomed Monica into the team.  She utilises her knowledge in the procedure and protocol on mortgages for residents and non-residents, law regulations in real estate, credit, and mortgage contracts to support our advisors and clients. She has also gained the Qualification in Expert Credit Real State U.N.I.R. 2020”.  Monica still feels she is learning every day and that every client brings with them a unique challenge for which she is dedicated to help solve for them.
